The second General Assembly of the Asia Oceania Floorball Confederation was held on the 6th of December at the Woodlands Sport Hall in Singapore, in connection to the Asia Pacific Floorball Championship. Six countries took part in the General Assembly, being Australia, India, Japan, Korea, Malaysia and Singapore.
The AOFC was founded in 2005 during the Women’s WFC in Singapore, in order to promote and develop Floorball in the Asian and Oceania region. The IFF has nine members in the AOFC and there are also a number of new countries in the region, where Floorball is being played as well, which are on their way to join the international Floorball community.
The General Assembly adopted a plan for the coming years, stressing on the need to develop the activities of the AOFC and its member associations. This will be done by increasing the number of international competitions in the area, creating own coaching materials and courses and to promote Floorball in the region, finding new countries in this area. One task for the AOFC, which was stated in the plan, is to focus on the referee development, in order to have an Asian referee pair refereeing in an IFF World Championship in the future.
The present AOFC President Mr. Sani Mohd. Salim was re-elected and there were nine CB members elected into the CB, Mr. Steve King, Australia as vice president, as treasurer Mr. Gum Sung Kang, Korea, and Mr. Pierre Boudville, Singapore as secretary general. The following persons were elected as CB-members: Mr. Juerg Kihm, Australia, Mr. Takanobu Yoshino, Japan, Mr. Soichi Kato, Mr. Hwang Joo Kim, Korea, Mr. Edward Lim, Malaysia and Mr. Suresh Subramaniam, Malaysia
