The first matches of Women’s Extraleague play-offs in Poland were scheduled for Saturday, 27th of March but have been postponed due to Covid-19 situation in Poland. The four best teams are playing the play-offs.

MMKS Podhale Nowy Targ won the regular season with 38 points. The team won 12 matches out of 14. SUS Travel Jedynka Trzebiatów finished second, only one point away from the Podhale Nowy Targ. The reigning champion Interplastic Olimpia Osowa Gdańsk I finished third with 29 points and PUKS Trzebinia was the last team to make it to the play-offs with 24 points. For the four other teams the season is over and since there is only one Women’s league in Poland, no teams are relegated.

Play-off pairs

MMKS Podhale Nowy Targ – PUKS Trzebinia
SUS Travel Jedynka Trzebiatów – Interplastic Olimpia Osowa Gdańsk I

The team has to win two matches to go forward from the semi-finals. First match is played at the hall of the lower ranked team, second and the possible third match are played at the hall of the higher ranked team. The same rule is in place in the Men’s Extraleague.

– Regardless of last season, the Polish Champion Interplastic Olimpia Osowa Gdańsk is not doing as well this year. MMKS Podhale Nowy Targ and SUS Travel Jedynka Trzebiatów are really solid this season and they are the favourites, but there are no big differences between the four teams. So everything is possible and this time it is not only a slogan. Theoretically least chance has PUKS Trzebinia, but this year they’ve shown several times that they can fight and even win with higher ranked teams. So I think that whole TOP4 will forget about the regular season and play-offs will be totally something different for them. Each team has to be at its maximum level, Polish Floorball Federation Media Manager Jakub Udziela informs.

The matches are streamed on the Facebook page or YouTube of the respective club:
