The Special Olympics World Winter Games 2025 are currently taking place in Turin, Italy with Floorball on the schedule! 

During the ongoing Special Olympics World Winter Games 2025 in Turin, floorball is part of the sports programme and the competition has been closely looked after by referees from Switzerland, Finland, China, Korea, and Italy, who have played a crucial role in ensuring fair and inspiring competitions. Their collaboration highlights the strong partnership between Special Olympics and the International Floorball Federation (IFF), working together to promote inclusion and sportsmanship. More than 18 countries are taking part in the Floorball competition in different categories from Mexico, to Jordan, to Sweden and Kenya are some of the nations competing.

The matches are being held at Inalpi Arena in Turin which host 11.000 seats, where the referees ensure that the rules are followed and that all athletes have a fair chance to compete during every match, with the international team of referees who work closely together to create a consistent and fair standard across all floorball matches. Their cooperation is an example of how sports can bridge different cultures and foster global unity.

The collaboration between Special Olympics and the IFF is essential in maintaining high-quality floorball competitions. IFF’s support contributes to the development of the sport and promotes the inclusion of athletes with intellectual disabilities. This partnership underscores both organizations’ dedication to creating a more inclusive sporting world.

The Special Olympics World Winter Games 2025 in Turin bring together over 1,500 athletes from more than 100 countries, competing in eight sports and finish on Saturday March, 15th.
