Top 10 highest ranked candidates continue to the final round in The World Games Athlete of the Year 2024 voting and Veera Kauppi continues to represent floorball finishing on 9th place in the first round.

The first round of voting ended today 22nd January at 12:00 GMT. Top 10 highest-ranked candidates continue to the final round which lasts until 31st January 12:00 GMT. Candidates will not take their votes from the first round to the final round as all vote counts are reset to zero.

We all know the merits of Veera Kauppi. Kauppi has won the World’ Best Floorball Player title four times, latest being in 2023. In the latest Women’s WFC Kauppi was nominated as the Most Valuable Player of the event and awarded with the IFF Golden Shoe. Team Finland and Kauppi also qualified for The World Games in Chengdu, China which marks the inclusion of Women’s Floorball in TWG for the very first time.

With her club team Thorengruppen IBK, Veera Kauppi has been unstoppable. The team has been dominating the Swedish Super League, and they are the reigning league Champions for the fourth year in a row. Thorengruppen are also back-to-back Floorball Champions Cup Champions from 2023 and 2024. Kauppi and Thorengruppen are defending their Champions Cup title this Saturday, when they play yet again in the final against Pixbo.

Votes may be cast via The World Games website, with a limit of one voting session per 24 hours. Each voting session must include votes for two candidates: 2 votes for your first-choice candidate and 1 vote for your second choice. Please note that votes cast for only one candidate will not be counted.
