The 16th Men’s World Floorball Championships (WFC) will be played in Tampere, Finland from 4th – 13th December 2026. In total, 35 teams registered for the event – 23 from Europe, 10 from Asia Oceania, and 2 from the Americas. 

Finland, as the event organiser, is directly qualified, while regional qualifications will be played to decide the remaining 15 teams. The qualification events will be played during the first of week of February 2026, and the IFF has begun discussions with possible organising countries. More information on the qualification groups and cities will be published at a later time.

Teams for the final round will qualify as follows:

EUROPE – 11 teams + host country Finland

ASIA OCEANIA – 3 teams

AMERICAS – 1 team

Final Round Playing System

The final round will be played with 16 teams divided into four groups.  The forming of the groups shall be decided in a ballot based on the final rankings of the two previous Championships of the same category, where each group will be allotted two teams from each basket as follows:

Group A and B:

Basket 1: Ranking 1-4
Basket 2: Ranking 5-8

Group C and D:

Basket 3: Ranking 9-12
Basket 4: Ranking 13-16

In the group stage each team plays each other once, while the second stage includes play-offs and placement matches. The two best teams of group A and B go directly to the quarter final. Teams placed third and fourth in group A and B and the teams placed 1st and 2nd in group C and D make it to the first play-off round (played before the quarter finals).

 

Women’s U19 WFC 2026

In 2026, Italy will for the first time ever host a World Floorball Championship final round, when the Women’s U19 event is played in Lignano Sabbiadoro & Latisana, Italy. A total of 20 countries have registered, of which 11 will receive direct qualification and the remaining 5 will be decided in regional qualifications played in August / September 2025.

Italy, as host country, along with the top-nine placed teams from the previous Women’s U19 WFC, played in 2024, as well as Canada, being the only Americas team to register, all receive direct qualification.

Teams for the final round will qualify as follows:

EUROPE – 10 teams directly + 2 via qualifications

ASIA OCEANIA – 3 teams via qualifications

AMERICAS – 1 team directly

Teams placed third and fourth in group A and B and the teams placed 1st and 2nd in group C and D move to the play-off round which determines the teams that receive direct qualification for the next WFC.
