Men's U19 WFC 2023 team presentations - Group A

The 12th Men’s U19 World Floorball Championships will be played from 26th – 30th April 2023 at Arena Nord, in Frederikshavn, Denmark. Czech Republic, Finland, Latvia and Poland are playing in Group A.

Czech Republic

Describe your team, and what should we expect from your team during MU19 WFC 2023?

We are targeting to be the best team of the tournament.

Players to watch

Team rookie or young player to look out for on your team and why?

#4 Michael Wertheim – the youngest player on our team (2006 born) with important role in first line. Great passing.

Who is a leader on and off the field and why?

We have quite a group of leaders on the field. The most visible will be #10 Adam Zubek and #12 Martin Gattnar playing the same line. Leaders off the field are #8 Filip Eliáš and #9 Jakub Bohuslávek.

Most skillful player?

#17 Adam Palčinský – player combined skill and self-confidence.

Which player demonstrates #FairFloorball the best?

#11 Jakub Faksa – true warrior, very physical and tough. Will hit you with “full heart”, but always fair.

Finland

Describe your team, and what should we expect from your team during MU19 WFC 2023?

An energetic and a team that is ready to play. Only one goal, and that is Gold.

Team rookie or young player to look out for on your team and why?

#17 Ville Heiska. Despite the age, Heiska has already made debut at the highest Men’s league in Finland, the F-Liiga.

Who is a leader on and off the field and why?

#24 Juho Seppälä. His physical presence itself indicates leadership, and the ability to play floorball supports it.

Most skillful player?

#4 Luukas Hyvärinen. Player with a vision.

Which player demonstrates #FairFloorball the best?

#5 Amos Jäppinen. Captain with a big heart. Treats both the sport and all people with respect.

Latvia

Describe your team, and what should we expect from your team during MU19 WFC 2023?

We have set high expectations – to go for the win in each and every game no matter the opponents. We will see what will come out of it at the end of the day, but we do have many young and also some already quite hard “diamonds”, therefore we will be ready to play and show our skills.

#13 Markuss Dumpis – unpredictable, always delivering the best unexpectedly.

Who is a leader on and off the field and why?

#20 Gustavs Griezītis – team captain, already stepped in the big Men’s national teams player’s shoes, great experience, understanding of the game and the team spirit both on and off the field.

Most skillful player?

Quite a few to highlight – we will see who will showcase the best skills.

Which player demonstrates #FairFloorball the best?

#73 Ernests Ronis – responsible, respectful, always keeping in mind everyone else’s point of view no matter the situation.

Poland

Describe your team, and what should we expect from your team during MU19 WFC 2023?

Our aim is to stay in the TOP8 in the world.

Team rookie or young player to look out for on your team and why?

#44 Kacper Rutkowski – Goalkeeper living and training in Scotland, which is exotic for floorball, he can surprise many rival strikers.

Who is a leader on and off the field and why?

#16 Daniel Surdyn – captain of the team. One of the most experienced players.

Most skillful player?

#25 Mateusz Sadolewski – one of the most talented players of the young generation. He has very good physical condition and strong shot. He should be one of the leaders of the team during U19 WFC.

Which player demonstrates #FairFloorball the best?

#19 Kacper Szałański – a player who combines great skills with respect for the opponent. Despite his young age – 17, he will be at 3rd WFC tournament (Brno 2021 with U19 team, Zurich 2022 with Adult team).
