Everything is set for the Men’s highest league finals in Austria. WFV and VSV will battle again for the national championship and the first match is played on Saturday 10th of April.
After VSV was able to clinch the Austrian Super Cup at the beginning of the season, WFV took over the regular season series, winning three of four meetings between the two teams. The WFV top scorer Jakob Mayer expects a close series between the fierce rivals:
– Both teams are competing at the same level. The winning team will be the one more concentrated. It’s always a great thing playing against my former club. I won four titles with VSV, but now I want to win my fourth with Vienna, comments the former VSV player.
The VSV star player Timo Schmid is also expecting a tight series:
– At the end the team with less game errors will win the title. You’re not allowed to have many of those against such a strong opponent.
The first game is played on Saturday 10th of April at 17:00 in Vienna. The team needs two wins for the title.
Women’s final
Meanwhile, the Women’s final series between TVZ Wikings and Linz/Rum might head into its last game. TVZ Wikings only need one more win against the reigning champion Linz/Rum to clinch the women’s national championship title. Linz/Rum however will do anything necessary to prevent their season from ending.
The second match is played on Saturday 10th of April at 14:00.
