One game into the season the International Floorball League’s (IFL) 2020-21  has already come to an end. This year’s regular season started without the Hungarian teams, and on Tuesday 20th of October, the Austrian Floorball Association and the Slovenian Floorball Association decided to cancel the league entirely.

Due to the different restrictions within Austria and Slovenia regarding Covid-19, there was no other choice. The Austrian Bundesliga schedule has now been adapted to have the Austrian IFL-teams being part of the whole regular season. The IFL will be back for the 2021-22 season including all teams.

The International Floorball League (also called the 3 Nations Floorball League) was first established in 2018 by Austria and Slovenia. In 2019, the three best teams from Hungary joined the league and the season was played with nine teams. The Slovenian FBK Insport Škofja Loka defended the title since the previous season ended prematurely and the regular season standings remained.
