On the 14th of August 2020 during Ministry of Youth and Sports Commission meeting it was decided to recommend to grant Ukrainian Floorball Federation (UFF) the national status as a federation. This gives the federation opportunity to get support on the governmental level.
– We have been working towards this for four years. This is the final step in order to fully cooperate and count on the support from the Ukrainian state. This gives the federation the opportunity to get support on the governmental level and our clubs to get support on the regional and local levels, says the UFF President Tamuz Hidir.
To receive recognition from the Ministry, the UFF needed to be recognised by the IFF and have enough representation in Ukraine:
– We needed to have the IFF recognition and have registered representations in at least half of Ukraine’s 27 regions. Floorball is considered as priority sport among the Non-Olympic sports in Ukraine. And that Floorball is on the World Games is a big bonus. It’s a permanent recognition, Hidir continues.
There are around 40 clubs, 1000 licensed players and 2000 recreational players in Ukraine.
