The best floorball players, referees and coaches of the season 2019-20 were awarded by Czech Floorball on Tuesday 2nd of June. This year the the winners were announced in a special broadcast by CT sport.
Nine of the winners were chosen by floorball experts, journalists, legends, captains of the national teams as well as by board members of Czech Floorball. Players from both women’s and men’s highest leagues chose the Most Valuable Players of the season among themselves and floorball fans once again got a chance to choose both male and female Star of the season. Due to the pandemic situation the ceremony took place only virtually and was broadcasted by the biggest sports channel in the country, CT sport.
Jiri Curney and Denisa Ratajova were awarded as the players of the season. Curney earnd the most total points for goals and assists and yet again helped his team, Technology Florbal MB, to win the regular season. He became the player of the season for the first time in history after the long reign of Matej Jendrisak. He was also elected as the MVP of the league, which he managed to do for the fifth time in the last six years.
Ratajova became the player of the season for the first time in history, after she took over the title from her teammate Eliska Krupnova. Ratajova had a spectacular season in the Swedish Pixbo Wallenstam. She led the team’s player statistics in Pixbo as she did also in the women’s national team during the World Floorball Championships in December 2019.
In the women’s MVP category, all three finalists were from one team, Florbal Chodov and finally Gabriela Zurkova took home the win. The fans voted for Martina Repkova and Filip Langer as the stars of the season.
