The Women’s Salibandyliiga will be divided into two separate leagues for the season 2019-20, namely league A and league B. This makes the play-off system different this year. After the regular season, the top three teams are close to each other. PSS took the first place with 41 points, SB-Pro was second with 40 points and SSRA third with 36 points.

The top six teams are further divided into two placement series. PSS, SB-Pro and SSRA are playing in the placement series A and EräViikingit, Koovee and TPS in series B. The teams in both series will play against each other twice and these games will decide the final standings of the groups. Points from the regular season will remain. The teams will continue to the play-offs after deciding the standings. The winner of the placement series A, will then have the possibility to first choose their play-off opponent from the teams placed 5th – 8th in the regular season.

First rounds took place last weekend and here are the results:

PSS – SB-Pro 4-5
SB-Pro – SSRA 4-2

EräViikingit – Koovee 5-4 ot.
Koovee – TPS 10-4

The four teams on the bottom will play the play-outs. Those are played with a best of five system. Winners will join the top teams in the play-offs and for losers the season is over. The first two rounds were played during the weekend and results are found below:

Pelicans SB – NST  3-1
NST – Pelicans SB 3-2 ot.

Classic – ÅIF 4-0
ÅIF – Classic 0-3

The top eight teams will secure their place in the NLA for the season 2019-20. The two teams, that lost the play-out matches, will play in the NLB, with six other teams coming from the lower divisions. The quarter-finals and semi-finals will be played with a best of five system and the final with a best of seven system. Bronze medals will be decided in a single bronze game.
