The Singapore women’s Floorball team received the Team of the Year (Team Sports) award at this year’s Singapore Sports Awards 2018.

The Singapore women’s team came out of the eight teams at the Asia-Oceania Qualifiers for the Women’s World Floorball Championships in February 2017 and qualified to be among one of the top 16 nations in the world to compete at the Women’s World Floorball Championships in December 2017. Since then they have continued their good performances, recently winning the inaugural women’s Asia Oceania Floorball Cup in June.

At the ceremony held at Marina Bay Sands on the 18th of July 2018, Mr Tan Chuan-Jin, Speaker of Parliament and President of Singapore National Olympic Council, Ms Grace Fu, Minister for Culture, Community and Youth and Mr Fong, Chief Executive of Tote Board presented the award to the team. This is the first time Floorball has won the Team of the Year award at this annual prestigious event.
