The second day of the Women´s WFCQ EUR 2 didn´t have any surprises. Finland and Poland both took strong wins and are two points closer to a place in the final round.


Finland played against Russia in the first WFCQ EUR 2 match of the day. It was clear from the start who would control the game. Finland´s passes were smooth and the ball found Russia´s net 6 times during the first period. Russia was also given scoring chances as they got three power plays, but no Russian goals were seen during the first 20 minutes. In the second period Finland continued dominating the game by making 6 more goals. During the third period we finally saw a Russian goal. Liubov Serebriakova got a break through and shot the goal behind the Finnish goalie. Another Russian goal was done on power play. All in all Finland won the match 16-2.

Home team Italy faced Poland in the last match of the day. Poland had most of the ball control, but Italy also had their chances in building attacks. Poland was the first to score, but for the spectators´ joy, Italy decreased the score to 1-2 after eight minutes. Poland´s Agata Plechan was productive in the first period as she scored a 2+2. All in all the score was 1-5 for Poland after first period. The second period was less eventful. Poland were still able to score two goals and were already six goals ahead of the Italians. Italy were able to score their second goal when Linda Pedrazzoli scored with 9 minutes on the clock. In the end Poland won the match 11-2.
