During the Men´s WFC 2016, the players from all of the participating teams will have the chance to vote for the male representatives on the IFF Athletes´ Commission. The IFF has received 8 male nominations: Shaun Frazer (AUS), Tomas Sladky (CZE), Tero Tiitu (FIN), Junoh Lee (KOR), Ole Mossin Olesen (NOR), Johan Samuelson (SWE), Manuel Engel (SUI) & Manaure Russo-Mendoza (FRA).
Four male representatives will be elected to the IFF Athletes Commission (ATC) for the next four year period and the results will be announced in February 2017 after the elections for the female candidates, which will be held during the Women´s WFC Qualifications.
Here we meet Junoh Lee of Korea & Manuel Engel from Switzerland.
Junoh Lee, Republic of Korea
Age: 32yrs Current Club: Seoul Haechis WFC/Q´s: 4 (2008-2016)
Junoh has been a member of the IFF ATC for two years and is hoping to continue for the next term. He has represented Korea at the highest level since 2008 as well as playing in Switzerland and Australia. He was selected as a Global Sports Leader by the Korea Foundation for the Next Generation Sports Talent, and currently works in the Test Events Management Department, organising 28 international sport events for the Pyeongchang Organising Committee for 2018 Winter Olympic & Paralympic Games.
“With my knowledge in sports and working experience for the Olympic Games, I will do my best to contribute more values to the IFF ATC. I have passion for floorball, confidence and belief for my dream that is to help Floorball get into the Olympic Games.”
Manuel Engel, Switzerland
Age: 23yrs Current Club: Växjö Vipers (SWE) WFC´s: 3 (2012-2016)
Manuel is the youngest of the ATC nominees. At just 23 he is already a very experienced player, with over 80 international matches at adult & U19 level. Since 2015 he has played in Sweden in the world´s top league. When he gets time away from Floorball he watches and plays other sports, plays guitar and enjoys good food. He also likes tractors.
“Floorball is now, and always has been a big part of my life. I love the passion and the fun it still means to me. Being able to contribute and develop the game for all players, & try to provide them the best possible circumstances to play the game they love as I now can, is my motivation for being part of the ATC.”
