The first club tournament for women was held in Iran in the beginning of September. Elections for the Women’s national team were held at the same time.

Seven teams participated in the first Women’s club tournament, which was held in Iran 1-3.9.2016. Three of the teams were from Tehran, three from Yazd and one team was from Isfahan. Team Electro Kavir from Yazd became the champions, PMP Team came second and Energy Kavir Paya came third.

The tournament was visited by for example Mr. Ramezanali Davalo the President of Iran Floorball Association and by personnel from the Sport & Youth Yazd Province who honored the best teams by trophies, medals and certificates.

The best players of the tournament will be invited to a preparatory practice camp for the Women’s World Floorball Championships (WFC) Asia-Oceania Qualifications, which will be held in February. This is the first time that Iran is taking part in the Women’s WFC.
