The Women´s U19 World Floorball Championships 2018 will be played in St. Gallen, Switzerland, May 2nd – 6th.
The Swiss Floorball Association has decided to give the hosting rights for the U19 WFC 2018 to St. Gallen. Possible venues are the Athletic Centre (Athletikzentrum) and Kreuzbleiche in St. Gallen as well as the Sports Centre in Herisau. The local organisers will be UHC Waldkirch-St. Gallen in cooperation with the Swiss Floorball Association, involving the clubs UH Appenzell, UHT Hot Shots Bronschhofen, TSV Fortitudo Gossau, UHC Herisau and UHC Black Barons Wil.
– We are very pleased to give the organising rights of the U19 WFC 2018 to highly experienced event hosts with an ideal infrastructure, Reto Gyger, the Project Manager of the U19 WFC 2018 from the Swiss Floorball Association, said.
Also Joe P. Stöckli, the President of St. Gallen´s WFC bid, is pleased with the decision of the Swiss Floorball Association:
– We want to take the opportunity to share our enthusiasm of the sport and to make floorball even more popular in our region.
St. Gallen has previous experience for hosting World Floorball Championships. The 8th Women´s World Floorball Championships were played in St. Gallen December 4th – 11th 2011.
