FLC Skala Melitopol was victorious in both men’s and women’s top leagues in Ukraine. The Ukrainian play-offs were held in Zaporozhye 15-17.4.2016. In total, winners of six categories were rewarded.
Men’s Championship
FLC Skala Melitopol made its way to the final by defeating KFC Kiev 14-5. Melitopol was the ultimate favourite and took a clear 15-7 win against Skif Novij Rosdo in the final. This was Melitopol’s sixth title during seven seasons. In the bronze match Lemberg Lviv won against KFC Kiev 15-6.
Women’s Championship
The matches were more even in the women’s play-offs. In the semi-finals, FLC Skala Melitopol was able to defeat Yantar Novajavorsk 5-4 on overtime. The final between Melitopol and Nadiya Kolomya was also decided on overtime. Melitopol was more efficient and won the match 4-3. This is the third title for Melitopol.
Skif Novij Rosdol won the bronze medal after a 6-2 win against Yantar Novojavorsk.
Men´s First Division League
For the first time the First Division League (2nd highest men´s league) play-offs were played in the same location during the same day. Eight teams took part in the play-offs. Storm Ternopil played against New Life Lutsk in the final. Ternopil was stronger with numbers 4-1. Both finalists qualified for the highest league next season.
