The international transfer period from the 1st of July until the 31st of December included over 560 transfers between Floorball countries. In 2009 the number of annual transfers was for the first time more than 500 transfers. There was a huge increase in 2009, since the amount of transfers was over 100 transfers more than in 2008.

The Temporary Play Transfer procedure, which started in 2008 continued also during summer 2009. The amount of Temporary Play transfers was doubled compared to 2008. The Temporary Play window was open between 1st of July and 31st of August 2009. This gave the clubs the possibility to test players in the pre-season tournaments.

The number of completed transfers was 564 from which 126 (22 %) was made to Norway, 110 (20 %) to Sweden, 73 (13 %) to Finland and 70 (12 %) to Switzerland. International transfers were done to a total of 22 different countries and for the first time international transfers were competed to Australia.

Compared to 2008, 16 countries increased their amount of transfers. The biggest increase was seen in Great Britain where the amount of transfers rose from 3 to 38. In Germany and Finland the amount of transfers were almost doubled.

Temporary Play Transfers 2009

There were 21 completed Temporary Play Transfers during summer 2009. 16 of them were done to Fortuna Czech Open, which was played in Czech Republic. See all the Temporary Play transfers from here.

The IFF has decided to prolong the Temporary play window in 2010 and the test play during pre-season is allowed from May 1st – August 31st 2010.

Transfer Statistics 1998-2009

International transfers have been made since 1998. Even though Norway had most transfers this year, the biggest amount of the transfers during 1998-2009 have been completed to Sweden. The 110 transfers to Sweden in 2009 lifted the total number of transfers to a new level, since Sweden was the first country to brake the limit of 1 000 completed transfers. Since 1998, 1 007 international transfers have been completed to Sweden and 879 transfers to Norway.

The 564 international transfers in 2009 made the total number of transfers grow to nearly 4 000 and the total number of all transfers is now 3 948. International transfers have been completed to 24 different countries. Check out the IFF Transfer Statistics 1998-2009 from here.
