The new IFF Whereabouts requirements are based on the World Anti-Doping Code to be in force from 1st January 2009 (with a transfer period for Testing pools and Whereabouts until 1st of April 2009).
The Signatories (including IFF) to the World Anti-Doping Code recognize that effective Out-of-Competition Testing programmes are essential to the fight against doping in sport and that effective Out-of-Competition Testing depends upon accurate and complete Athlete whereabouts information.
As a result, the WADA Code requires Athletes in Registered Testing Pools: (a) to provide detailed information, on a quarterly basis, about their whereabouts in the following quarter; and (b) to be available at those whereabouts for Out-of-Competition Testing.
IFF has two Registered Testing Pools (RTP´s):
1) Registered Testing Pool for Individual players (RTP 1)
– New Testing Pool starting 1st of April 2009
2) Registered Testing Pool for National teams (RTP 2)
– No changes to the existing system
