The Women´s World Championships Qualification starts today in Idrija, Slovenia. There are still three spots open for the WFC 2009 and those places will be decided in the WFC Qualification. The 7th Women´s World Championships will be played in December 2009 in Västerås, Sweden.

Italy, Slovakia and Spain played in the B-division in WFC 2007. Also Austria has played in the B-division earlier. Estonia, Georgia and home nation Slovenia are trying to achieve a place in the Women´s WFC for the first time.

The WFC Qualifications will be played in two groups:
Group A

The previous Women´s WFC was played 2007 in Denmark. Ten A-division teams and six best B-division teams from that tournament were directly qualified to the WFC 2009.
The rest of the registered teams consisted Canada from North America and seven European teams. Canada was only team out of Europe and therefore directly qualified to the WFC 2009. The remaining seven European teams are playing a qualification tournament for the three open spots to the WFC.
