The USA Floorball association organised a Floorball Symposium in Fresno, California on the 27-28 of September. The symposium started with a three hour general seminar for educators and PE teachers, where information was given about the foundation for Floorball, what is needed in order to start playing and what the game looks like in Europe.

The symposium was held by the IFF, based on the Development Seminar materials. In addition to the lectures, the symposium started with a short game introduction played in small goals.

In total the symposium was attended by 35 participants from all over the United States, mainly coming from California. The rest of Saturday was spent in both the lecture room and on the field, since simultaneously the USFbA organised both a player training camp and a children´s clinic, where children could come and test playing.

During the symposium it was discussed how Floorball should be built and organised in the USA, taking into account the present sports structure. Additionally the symposium covered the topics of the pros and cons of having a license system, the tasks of an association, recruiting players and volunteers. In the evening there was a friendly game played between USA and Europe.

During Sunday the symposium continued with a set of theoretical sessions looking upon the need to have international referees, organising international events and the new proposed license system for participation in the IFF Major events. It was followed by an on court goalkeeper session, looking upon how goalkeepers should train individually and with the team. The USFbA president Mr. Jan Erik Paris, felt that the seminar was a great success and that Floorball took a step forward in the USA.
