The International Floorball Federation completed its application to the International Olympic Committee (IOC). The application was updated with the new amount of IFF Member Associations together with the latest player statistics sent in by the IFF Member Associations.

The IFF General Assembly decided in its meeting held the 26th of May 2006 in Stockholm, Sweden, that one of the major goals of the IFF in the next two years is to receive the IOC recognition in 2008. The first IFF IOC application was sent on the 14th of December 2007 and after the asked completions the updated IOC application now has been sent to the International Olympic Committee.

The number of member countries in the International Floorball Federation has continued to grow in 2008, the latest members being Turkey and Romania. Also the number of Floorball players in the world has continued to increase in 2008.

According to the IFF´s knowledge the IOC Executive Board will make the decision about the IF’s seeking for recognition in their meeting on the 11th of December 2008.
