The Women’s World Floorball Championships 2025 group draw took place in Ostrava in the presence of representatives from Czech Floorball, the International Floorball Federation, the host cities and former and current national team players.
WFC 2025 will feature sixteen teams who have qualified through continental qualifications and now know their opponents for the showpiece event.
— The World Championship is always a celebration of floorball and I believe that this time we will be able to turn the host cities into epicentres of world floorball. It is both an honour and an obligation for me that my first championship as IFF President will take place in the Czech Republic. The World Championship is not only a showcase for the best floorball in the world, but also opens up numerous opportunities for the development of international floorball itself. Therefore, I believe that in December we will not only see a well organised event in Brno and Ostrava, but that together we will take another step towards strengthening the position of world floorball, said the IFF President Filip Šuman, who took over from long-time president Thomas Eriksson from Sweden in December.
The draw itself was conducted by women’s national team legend and record holder Eliška Krupnová, WFC 2025 Secretary General Petr Chvojka, IFF Secretary General John Liljelund, Mayor of Ostrava Jan Dohnal, Head of the Sports Department of the City of Brno Martin Jelínek and Deputy Governor of the Moravian-Silesian Region Jan Veřmiřovský.
IFF President Filip Šuman opened the draw with a speech, followed by Czech Floorball President Daniel Novák and ČEZ Extraliga’s most productive player and national team member Karolína Klubalová.
Groups C and D were drawn first, followed by A and B. The Czechs will meet Switzerland again, as they did two years ago, as well as Latvia and Denmark. The second group features the two Nordic teams and an intriguing clash between neighbours Slovakia and Poland.
Groups
Group A: Czech Republic, Denmark, Latvia, Switzerland

Group D: Estonia, Germany, Singapore, USA
WFC set to break attendance record again
For the second time in its history, the Women’s World Floorball Championships will be held in the Czech Republic, once again returning to the same cities. The 2013 WFC broke attendance records with nearly 44,000 fans in attendance. Six years later, the record was broken by the World Championships in Neuchâtel, Switzerland, which attracted a total of 44,513 spectators.
— The draw is another important step for us. The World Championship is literally getting closer by the day and first of all I have to thank all the members of the organising team who are doing an excellent job in preparing the biggest floorball event of the year. Personally, I am very much looking forward to both Brno and Ostrava. I would also like to acknowledge the excellent cooperation with both cities. I believe that fans from abroad will also find their way to the Championships. We want to build on previous successful events, attract as many people as possible to the arenas and show that we Czechs not only know how to organise a perfect event, but also how to create the best possible atmosphere and try to bring the record back to the Czech Republic, said Daniel Novák, president of Czech Floorball.
The group stage matches will be played at the STAREZ ARÉNA VODOVA in Brno, which hosted the Women’s World Championships in 2013 and the U19 World Championships in 2021, where young Czech players won gold medals.
— Brno is a city of sports and floorball has a tradition of more than thirty years. The national team has always been able to count on a warm home environment with great fans, which will certainly be confirmed at this year’s women’s championship. I wish our team every success and hope that they will defend the medal they won at the last World Championship, said Markéta Vaňková, Mayor of Brno.
The WFC will move to the OSTRAVAR ARÉNA in Ostrava for the play-offs. The arena also hosted the 2013 final and the 2018 and 2019 Floorball Super Finals.
— It is a great honour for us that Ostrava will once again host the Women’s World Floorball Championship. This prestigious tournament is not only an opportunity for our city to showcase its hospitality and organisational skills, but also a unique chance for our citizens to experience the atmosphere of world-class sport right at home. Our city will be the epicentre of floorball action as the world’s best players gather to compete for the title. This event will undoubtedly be a great inspiration for young athletes who will have the opportunity to see their idols in action, said Jan Dohnal, Mayor of Ostrava.
