Singapore will host the Women’s World Floorball Championships Asia-Oceania Qualifications from 18th — 22nd March. Three best teams will qualify for WFC 2025 and two best teams will secure their spot in The World Games 2025. Japan, Thailand, New Zealand and India are playing in Group A.

Japan is a young team. Veteran players push young players and want to leave good results in the tournament with synergy.

Describe your team, and what should we expect from your team during WFCQ 2025?

Thailand have a good mix of young and more experienced players in the team. They did not qualify for WFC 2023 in Singapore which was their first missed WFC since their first participation in 2017. – IFF

New Zealand

Describe your team, and what should we expect from your team during WFCQ 2025?

The New Zealand team brings a wealth of floorball experience from past representative Women’s and U19 campaigns. We are also excited to include some international debutants in the 2025 squad. With a positive and supportive team culture, we are focused on playing a structured and unified style of floorball, bringing a competitive edge to every game. We are ready and excited to take the court in Singapore and contest every match!

Who is your most dangerous attacker and why?

#8 Sophie Lee-Wutzler – Sophie is everywhere on the court. She has elite speed, great ball control and will slot shots from anywhere or set her teammates up for easy chances.

 

 

Who is your strongest defender and why?

#2 Marie Sundin – Marie combines her unique experience having played in New Zealand, Sweden and Australia. She’s developed in each destination and controls the game, marshalls the team from the back and anchors our defence.

 

Who is your toughest player and why?

#24 Emma Selley – Emma is tenacious and is an absolute workhorse on the court. She’ll hound players, create turnovers, hustle and put her body on the line whenever it’s necessary.

#22 Hannah Bertschinger – Hannah embodies #FairFloorball at all times on and off the court. Whether it’s directed at her teammates, the opposition or the officials, she is positive and uplifiting.

The Indian women’s floorball team has shown continuous growth in recent years, with many passionate players. As a team, they focus on building their technical skills, teamwork, and adaptability to compete at international levels. During the WFCQ 2025, you can expect the Indian women’s team to showcase: Improved Team Chemistry, Aggressive Defense and Fast Attacks & talented Players Stepping Up.
