This past week the European qualifications for the Women’s World Floorball Championships 2025 in Brno & Ostrava, Czechia took place in Latvia and Italy where 11 nations officially joined hosts Czechia for the premier tournament in Women’s Floorball later this year.
In Valmeira, Latvia there were not any shocks as things went according to rankings with the best ranked teams making it through. Sweden, Finland, Latvia, Norway, Germany & Estonia all qualified as expected as the top 3 in their groups.
In Lignano Sabbiadoro things were a bit different as a shock happened midway through the event with the Netherlands (ranked 21st in the world) defeated Denmark (ranked 8th) to qualify as one of the best 2 placed teams in their group alongside group winners Switzerland. In the other group Slovakia and Poland showed their strength to make it through as top 2 with the final qualification spot coming down to the final playoff match between hosts Italy and Denmark. The Danes made up for their earlier loss to Netherlands and defeated Italy to grab that important ticket to the WFC 2025. Lignano Sabbiadoro is the home of surprise qualifications as 2 years prior France qualified for the 2023 WFC for the first time ever with their win over Hungary and draw against Italy.
12 teams are now confirmed for the WFC 2025:
Czechia
Sweden
Finland
Latvia

Singapore hosted the 2023 Women’s World Championships and will now host the 2025 AOFC WFCQ. The event will be played at Our Tampines Hub, Team Sports Hall with eight teams: Japan, Thailand, New Zealand and India in Group A and Singapore, Australia, Philippines and Korea in Group B.
