With the 2024 new champion, Finland, crowned in Malmö on Sunday, we take a look back at the partnership with Spintso, the referee communication equipment provider.
Spintso equipped all seven referee pairs with its state-of-the-art communication system, Refcom II, for the duration of the event. Most referees received the communication units a couple of weeks in advance, allowing them to test the equipment in real-world situations before the tournament. Additionally, on Friday, December 6th, Spintso hosted a workshop for the referees to address any potential issues and answer questions about the system.
Here’s what Danish referees Steffen Leholk and Tobias Pauli Schmidt, who officiated the thrilling final, had to say about the Refcom II:
– We had the pleasure of wearing the Spintso Refcom II during the WFC 2024, including the final. The new version we used featured an easy setup and connection, making it excellent gear for the tournament. It was comfortable to wear on the arm, and the earpiece felt great. The sound quality was perfect, and throughout all matches, the system significantly supported us in our performance as a referee pair. We can strongly recommend the Spintso Refcom II to all referees in any sport!
After the event, referees were given the opportunity to purchase the units at a special price. Many took advantage of this offer, reflecting their satisfaction with the product.
– The general feedback about the equipment from the referees was very positive, which is paramount for us. Before the WFC, we conducted a workshop with Spintso and all the referees to ensure they were using the units and earpieces correctly. For some, it was their first time using this type of earpiece. Having Spintso on-site allowed us to address any issues and ensure all headsets were installed and functioning correctly. Both parties are very satisfied with the collaboration, explained Mr. Tero Kalsta, IFF Sales and Sustainability Manager.
