The Swedish Floorball Federation has informed that after a thorough analysis of their initial bid and IFF proposal of the agreement to host the European Floorball Championships 2026 that they cannot organise the championship with these conditions. This decision was taken by the relevant operational officials and the Swedish federation Executive Committee.
Based on this the IFF and the Swedish Floorball Federation have, after long discussions, jointly concluded that there are no financial or organisational basis to organise the European Floorball Championships in Sweden in 2026. The parties agree that there has apparently been a number of misunderstandings during the whole process and therefore both parties have not been on the same page concerning the expectations for the organisation. IFF will based on this, work to clarify the process for future event bidding.
The CB will now tie the introduction of the European Championships together with the change of the Event structure and a four-year WFC cycle. The IFF CB will inform the members during the IFF General Assembly accordingly.
