The very first F-liiga Draft event took place at the Bläk Boks Arena in Lempäälä on 17th of May 2023. Now the F-liiga Draft returns and it will be held in the same location on Friday 24th of May.

The historical first F-liiga Draft was only for the Men’s F-liiga clubs and consisted of three rounds. This year the event is even bigger when the Women’s F-liiga clubs take part in the Draft.

There are two rounds in the 2024 F-liiga Draft. This means that every club picks two players and the pick order is set by the final results of the season 2023-2024. The first team to pick is the weakest team in the season 2023-2024 results and the Finnish Champions will make the last pick on every round.

The 2023 F-liiga Draft was quite successful on the Czech side as Adam Hemerka joined Classic for the season, Simon Stransky played in EräViikingit and Martin Hanousek joined Jymy. They were all picked during the first round of the Draft. Matej Penicka was picked by EräViikingit on the second round and signed a contract with the Helsinki-based team like Stransky. Latvian national team player Krisjanis Tiltins wrote his name in the history books as he became the first player to be picked in the F-liiga Draft. Tiltins spent the season in FBC Turku, making sure that they stay in F-liiga instead of relegation.
