From April 29 to May 4, 2025, Zurich will host the best Men’s U19 floorball players in the world. The group matches will be played in the Hardau and Saalsporthalle, the finals in the Swiss Life Arena.
After the 2022 Men’s World Floorball Championships in Zurich and Winterthur, Switzerland will once again host a WFC in 2025. The Men’s U19 World Floorball Championships will take place in Zurich from April 29 to May 4, 2025.
– We are proud that our candidature dossier has convinced the responsible persons at the International Floorball Federation. Major events have an impact far beyond a single sport, says Andreas Cadisch, Head of Major Events at swiss unihockey. The last Men’s U19 WFC in Switzerland took place in Kirchberg and Zuchwil in 2007.
16 teams will be playing for the title next year. The group matches are scheduled from Tuesday to Friday in the Hardau or Saalsporthalle. For the finals, floorball will return to the venue where the Men’s teams took the spotlight in 2022: the Swiss Life Arena in Zurich Altstetten. The association also wants to achieve a new dimension for the juniors:
– We want to give this U19 World Floorball Championships a new importance. The youngsters deserve to be given the same stage as the A national teams to showcase their sport. We believe that the floorball community sticks together and also feels the desire and joy of supporting our young players, says Daniel Bareiss, Central President of swiss unihockey.
Various legacy projects will be carried out around the World Floorball Championships to promote the long-term development of the sport of floorball in Switzerland and to implement projects that will continue beyond the World Floorball Championships. At the same time, the U19 World Floorball Championships will be the start of a series of major international events in Switzerland.
