The Champions Cup 2024 begins with the quarter-finals. Four women’s teams are playing in the Northern Conference. Thorengruppen IBK and Pixbo from Sweden and TPS and Classic from Finland. Swedish Champions Thorengruppen will face off against Classic whilst Finnish Champions TPS face Pixbo.
Thorengruppen IBK
Describe your team, and what we should expect from your team during Champions Cup 2024?
Team Thorengruppen can most easily be descibed as a team that wishes to play a creative and offensive floorball. A good mixture of well-established players, hungry talent and most notably, a lot of players who can’t wait to play a crucial role in big games. During CC you can expect us to play a spectator friendly, entertaining and offensive floorball, but most significally a team that thrives on winning new titles and is hungry to lift the CC-trophy!

Team rookie or young player to look out for on your team and why?
#5 Mathilda Ekenlinde. A player who has grown a lot since her first debut in Thorengruppen. She is a key player in our defence and is a player who makes her surroundings better. She also has amazing skills and capacity to break through any player that stands in her way.
Who is a leader on and off the field and why?
#26 Emelie Wibron is the definition of a leader, both on and off the field. She shows the way on the field and puts a lot of time and effort on bringing the entire squad together.
Most skillful player?
#28 Veera Kauppi A complete entertainer and a person who alone can play a decisive role in any game.
Which player demonstrates #FairFloorball the best?
#11 Maja Viström She is a great team player and not least a player that shows great sportsmanship regardless of situation, game or opponent.
Pixbo
Describe your team, and what we should expect from your team during Champions Cup 2024?
Pixbo IBK is a real team machine that can alternate very disciplined play with quick transitions and creative solutions. The team consists of an interesting mix of young talent players and older experienced players. Pixbo always plays entertaining floorball. In the champions cup, we hope to be able to offer very entertaining games and we will show that we are one of the world’s best floorball teams.

#88 Ellen Lundin – The team rookie is also the youngest player, born in 2005. Ellen is very skilled and a real match winner. She can make passes that no one else sees
Who is a leader on and off the field and why?
#3 Moa Andersson – The natural leader of the team, both on and off the field, is also the team’s captain. With thoughtfulness and the ability to spread joy and energy, she is a given leader. Add to that her professional approach to her sportsmanship .
Most skillful player?
The team consists of many very skilled players, it is difficult to single out an individual.
Which player demonstrates #FairFloorball the best?
#94 Lara Heini – The team’s goalkeeper is truly an ambassador for the sport and treats teammates, opposing players, referees and officials with great respect.

Our team is one of the the best club teams in the world and we will fight for victory.

#95 Wilma Holm – U19 National team goalkeeper. Star of the future.

#89 Jenna Saario – our Captain. Inspires the Team to play and maintains good team spirit

Classic
Describe your team, and what we should expect from your team during Champions Cup 2024?
MS Classic has left its port and started its journey with a clear vision and a strong tailwind behind it. The CC 2024 tournament is one milestone on our overall journey, and we will take in all the experiences that this tournament provides us. However, at the same time we do not want to just collect good memories: we are here to compete, and we will give everything for one another and most importantly for the logo on our shirt. That we can promise to our fans.

Team rookie or young player to look out for on your team and why?
#20 Sofia Lahti – Sofia can be best described as a diamond in the rough and she took huge steps last season with her first season in our organization. Sofia has the dedication, the skill set and the potential to become a top-player in the Finnish F-League in the very near future.
Who is a leader on and off the field and why?
#92 Meri Mäkinen – Meri as the captain leads the team from the front and from the behind. If you were to look up the word “leadership” in the dictionary you would find there a picture of Meri smiling and giving the thumbs-up. Every team should have one merimäkinen, and we are happy to have the original version.
Most skillful player?
#8 Alma Laitila – Alma floats like a butterfly and stings like a bee. Alma has the moves like Jagger and the eye of the Terminator. Alma makes plays look easy simply because it is easy for her – time slows down when Alma has the ball.
Which player demonstrates #FairFloorball the best?
#18 Julia Woivalin – Julia is the embodiment of the current Classic Team. Starting her 10th league season – at a relatively young age – Julia is the perfect example of determination and professionalism: she plays hard but fair and enjoys it. Julia will take the ball from you with a smile on her face.
