The 6th of July 2023 marks the day that floorball was on display at PUMA headquarters in Herzogenaurach, Germany. With the support of the German Floorball Federation PUMA employees had the opportunity to try the sport and test their acquired skills.
In the beginning of 2023 PUMA became the IFF Official Sports Apparel Provider. The agreement with PUMA Nordic secures high-quality referee outfits for a five-year period. PUMA Nordic has been very enthusiastic about the partnership and has strived to create more awareness about floorball in their entire organisation. This opened the opportunity for the ~800 employees at headquarters to get acquainted with floorball first hand!
This summer, 2023 the German Floorball Federation is organising the second edition of the Street Floorball Tour which brings outdoor floorball to the heart of seven German cities. Between two tournaments close to PUMA headquarters they set up a floorball rink at the PUMA premises including a speed shooting station. The PUMA compound hosts a sporting area including a basket ball court with an fix installation of the Gerflor PowerGame+ surface. The same surface is recommended by IFF for outdoor floorball, therefore perfect for this occasion.
During the 6th of July (10am-4pm) everyone interested had the opportunity to try out floorball in a relaxed atmosphere. Instructors from the German Floorball Federation were there to give tips and advice on technique and drills. Furthermore, the most eager ones had the opportunity to try a 3 vs 3 match on the small floorball rink. After the try-out, there was an opportunity to enjoy smoothies or protein drinks and relax in deck chairs discussing their floorball experience.
– PUMA is huge organisation, which works with a lot of different sports. This is an exciting opportunity to increase awareness of floorball and internally display what the Nordic organisation is working with.
