The floorball tournament at the Southeast Asian Games 2023 is almost over. Now teams are getting ready for Tuesday 16th May which is also the final day. 

The group stage is now over and the best teams have secured their spots in the final. In the women’s event, Thailand won all their four games. Singapore got the second place and lost only against Thailand in the group stage. They will get a re-match already tomorrow when these teams are meeting in the final. Singapore are the defending champions from 2019 SEA Games. Philippines and Malaysia will be playing for the third place.

Sirinan Boonbut (THA) and Mindy Lim (SGP) are the current top points scorers in the women’s event with 11 points each – Boonbut is the top scorer with 10 goals and Lim has the most assists so far, nine in total.

In the men’s event Philippines won all their games in the group stage and advanced to the final. They also made history by winning against Thailand when they beat them 6-4 in the group stage. Thailand finished second in the group and they will get the desired re-match against Philippines in Tuesday’s final. Thailand are the reigning champions from 2019 SEA Games. Singapore and Malaysia will be playing for the third place.

Melvin Alm Mendoza (PHI) is the current top points scorer with 18 points – 11 goals and 7 assists in four games.

Cambodia take the fifth place in both men’s and women’s events. The teams made their international debuts at SEA Games and got valuable experience for the future.
