The International Floorball Federation, based in Helsinki, has secured a new partner as its official Sports Apparel Provider. The well renowned brand Puma will become a long-term partner and equip the referees in the upcoming years.
The new deal will secure high quality garments for the IFF officials. The complete referee outfit range will cover match uniforms, warm up clothing and track suits. The material will be in use starting from the IFF Champions Cup 2023 in early January.
The agreement came to fruition through strong cooperation with the Swedish Floorball Federation. As the Swedes were re-negotiating their partnership it became evident that bundling together a partnership on a national level in Sweden and an international level with the IFF creates strong synergy within floorball and for Puma.
– The Swedish Federation has truly embraced the idea that national federations can also consider the international importance of our sport. We have a lot to thank for their negotiation skills, says Tero Kalsta, Sales Coordinator at IFF.
In future IFF events Puma will have strong brand presence and the possibility to host exhibition stands and activation stations. The agreement also offers local organising committees the chance to purchase competitively priced garments for their volunteers and staff.
– We are delighted to start working with a strong global brand and grow their market position in floorball. The top quality of Puma was certainly a big factor for us, but we are very impressed with their strong sustainability programme which is aligned with our own initiatives, states IFF Secretary General John Liljelund.
With this agreement a new chapter begins as PUMA was the official material provider for the IFF during 2003-2007. A fun fact from the agreement dating back then the IFF had 35 members and the current number is 77, a good portrayal about the growth of floorball over the last fifteen years. The new agreement will stretch over the period 2023-2027 and will be handled by PUMA Nordic in Solna, Sweden.
– We are very pleased to sign this agreement with the IFF. Floorball as a sport is growing globally, and the IFF together with the national federations has a clear strategy for equality and sustainability. In addition, floorball is a very fast and accessible sport which suits PUMA perfectly, states Anders Selin representing PUMA Teamsales, Sweden.
