The Austrian Floorball Association has announced Roland Fust as taking over the duties of Austria U19 men’s national team as coach with immediate effect. The contract is provisionally valid until the World Cup qualification at the beginning of September, with the option for a further 3 to 5 years with the ÖFBV.

The 55-year-old Swiss has dedicated himself to sport and youth: he coached national league teams such as Rot Weiss Chur (NLA), Giants Kloten (NLA), Bülach Floorball (NLB), Zug United (NLB) and at GC-Unihockey (U21 / U18 / U16) and Zug United (U21). He was also able to gain and pass on experience with the U17 national team in Switzerland and with the U19 men in Germany.

With my commitment, I would like to contribute to the further development of the players and floorball in Austria and to receiving new inputs,” says the new national team coach, looking forward to his task. “The coaches and players should receive inputs that they can also take to the clubs,”

In addition to his work as a trainer, he also works as a consultant for sports facility construction and sports talent profiling. His philosophy: “If I can enable the player to think about floorball, to develop strategies, to plan moves, to coordinate and implement them, then I have good input and the players have progressed.”

Respect and team spirit are just as important to him as the commitment of each individual. Incessant work is the order of the day, without letting up – pushing each other and reminding each other of goals.
