On the occasion world championships in 2022 and the”Green Goal” concept, aiming for a completely CO2-neutral World Floorball Championships (WFC), the LOC has created the “Green Goal Award”. The award, worth CHF 5,000, is intended to inspire and motivate floorball clubs to address the issue of sustainability and to make their own contribution with innovative ideas.

With the recent launch of the CO2 calculator especially for floorball clubs, a first milestone of the Green Goal of the 2022 WFC was reached. The CO2 calculator makes it easier for interested clubs to get started with the topic of environmental sustainability and gives an initial indication of their own CO2 emissions.

The next logical step is to define and implement measures to reduce their own carbon footprint. The “Green Goal Award” aims to motivate floorball clubs to find their own innovative ideas for living floorball more sustainably. The five best ideas and projects are presented to the public and receive a nomination prize of CHF 1,000 as a contribution to implementation.

From these five nominated projects, the overall winner will be chosen on the sixth day of the 2022 World Floorball Championships, named Green Goal Day, and the “Green Goal Award” will be presented. The award is worth CHF 5,000.

All swiss unihockey affiliated clubs can take part. Ideas and projects can now be entered at www.wfc2022.ch/greengoalaward (in German / for French click here). The entries are checked and evaluated by a jury consisting of representatives of the steering committee, myclimate, the local organising committee and sponsors.
