The Ukrainian national team forward and IFF Social Media Ambassador Marian Hrabovyk, decided to transfer to Sweden and play with Täby in Allsvenskan. In Ukraine, he represented FBC Lemberg as the team captain.
Marian Hrabovyk has been into floorball scene for a long time, representing Ukraine both in U19 and in the Men’s national team. He has now moved from Ukraine to Sweden to follow his dreams. Marian is currently strengthening Täby in Allsvenskan and he has already done his match debut, scoring also his first goal in the match against Onyx. Although this is the first experience for Marian to play in Sweden, he practised together with the SSL team Storvreta IBK in Uppsala for a week last summer. Now we will get to know more about Marian’s thoughts of transferring to Sweden and his goals for this season.
You have transferred to Sweden. How did you choose to play there and why did you choose Täby?
— I have dreamed of playing in Sweden since childhood and it was impossible. I just kept training and believing. My dreams are like fish that others tried to drown, says Marian. Then the impossible became possible:
— Täby’s Mikael Ohman is a member of the coaching staff of the national team of Ukraine. He was well aware of my intentions and when he signed a contract with Täby (Allsvenskan), he asked if I wanted to try to use this opportunity. We arranged the transfer in just two days and a week later I was in Sweden.
What are your goals for the season?
— I live in the moment.. Now I am focused on maximizing the benefits for the team and constantly improving. We need to do everything to stay in the league, and then time will tell. I try to absorb everything like a sponge and I want to get back to my best shape as soon as possible. Because I got injured in WFCQ in Denmark … Two knee surgeries, two years of rehabilitation, a foot injury and now I’m here. Physically, I feel good, but the game form is not the best. I haven’t played for almost two years. And in Ukraine we have only 12-15 matches per season. Focus on the game, focus on the team!
What is your best floorball memory?
— Best memories? Hmmm…. First championship title in Ukraine, goal against Sweden during WFCQ 2020, EuroFloorball Challenge with Lemberg (second place). In general, my whole floorball life is the best memory.
Any regards to floorball community?
— I wish you strength and patience! Do all possible to achieve the impossible.
