The Czech Men’s U19 World Floorball Championships gold team became 6th in The World Games Athlete/Team of the Year 2021 contest with a total of 18 862 votes. 

The Indian hockey player PR Sreejesh was elected The World Games Athlete of the Year 2021 with 127 647 votes. There were 24 candidates in total.

• 2019: Czech Men’s U19 team finished 10^th  out of 25 candidates, winner Rani Rampal (IND), Hockey
• 2018: Burkina Fason Women’s team finished 18^th out of 25 candidates, winner Arina Chernova & Georgii Pataraia (RUS), Gymnastics
• 2017: Mika Kohonen (FIN)  finished 10^th out of 21 candidates, winner Reza Alipourshenazandifar (IRI), Sports Climbing
• 2016: Peter Kotilainen (FIN), finished 6^th out of 16 nominees, winner Sofia Olofsson (SWE), Muaythai
• 2015: Sweden’s Women’s national team, finished 14^th out of 18 nominees, winner Libor Hroza (CZE), Sports Climbing
