The Men’s World Floorball Championships 2020 have now reached the play-off stage. Eight teams will play in the first play-off round and the winners will then join Finland, Sweden, Switzerland and Czech Republic in the quarter-finals.
The two best teams of group A (FIN, SWE) and group B (SUI, CZE) advanced directly to the quarter-finals. The teams placed third and 4th in group A (LAT, DEN) and group B (NOR, GER) as well as the teams placed 1st and 2nd in group C (SVK, POL) and group D (EST, CAN) made it to the first play-off round. The winners of the first play-off round will advance to the quarter-finals.
The first play-off round is played tomorrow (Tuesday) and due to TV requests there are changes in tomorrow’s match schedule:
10:00 Play-off 3 DEN vs EST
13:00 Play-off 4 GER vs SVK
16:00 Play-off 1 LAT vs CAN
19:00 Play-off 2 NOR vs POL

Over 7000 spectators at the FIN vs SWE group match
A total of 7120 spectators attended the Helsinki Arena on the 4th of December and witnessed Finland beat Sweden in the group match 7-3.

Best WFC teams qualify for the World Games
The Men’s WFC in Helsinki acts as the qualifying event for The World Games 2022 played in Birmingham, USA. The floorball tournament will be played from 8th – 12th of July with eight men’s teams divided into two groups.
USA, as the host country, is the only directly qualified team. Other teams will qualify as follows:
- Top 5 placed teams at WFC 2020
- Best placed American continent team at WFC 2020
- Best placed Asia Oceania team at WFC 2020 (to be decided by the IFF CB & GA as not all AOFC teams could participate in the WFC)
