Finland and Sweden will play in the Women’s U19 World Floorball Championships 2020 final. Czech Republic and Switzerland will battle for the bronze.

As the group stage ended yesterday, today was the time for play-offs, semi-finals and first placement matches.

The two semi-finals were fierce battles. The semi-final between Czech Republic and Finland  ended with 5-2 victory. Finland was scoring early in the game and never gave up that lead. In the second semi-final, Switzerland was facing host Sweden. The first period was a close encounter. In the second period Sweden punished the opponen as Switzerland took too many penalties. Sweden’s 9-5 win secured them the ticket to the Women’s U19 WFC final.

The first game of the day, 7th place game between Russia and Slovakia, was a tight nail biter. In the end it was Slovakia which had the better end in their hands; 3-2 win. Team Russia will play against Germany tomorrow – to determine 8th place.

Last but not least, Latvia won the fifth place match against Poland 7-3. Poland took the lead with two goals but had no answers to the five consecutive goals by Latvia.
