Forum Ukraine 30, celebrating 30 years of Ukraine independence, became an event to remember for the Ukraine Floorball Federation when the President of Ukraine, Mr. Volodymyr Zelenskyy, played floorball during the event.

Ukraine Floorball Federation is very actively promoting floorball in the region and floorball at the Ukraine 30 event is a good example of that. Special Olympics and IFF have had a partnership since 2021. The goal of this partnership is to help each other and to develop and jointly promote floorball in both organisations. Furthermore, Ukraine Floorball Federation has good and close collaboration with Special Olympics in Ukraine.

This event was led by the initiative from Pari Match Foundation. There were both players from the Ukrainian Floorball Federation as well as players from Special Olympics Ukraine participating. Furthermore, Ukrainian Floorball Federation is starting up floorball activity for people with mental disabilities in 3 different regions with the support of Pari Match Foundation.

— We try to promote floorball as a very accessible, fun and inclusive sport. Today was a good example when President of Ukraine Mr. Zelenskyy first hesitated to play but then ended up playing along youths with intellectual disabilities and regular club players without any problems and having a lot of fun, Tamuz Hidir, Executive director of Ukrainian Floorball Federation, and a member of the IFF Central Board, commented on this great event.

— As the responsible for floorball within Special Olympics, I was happy to see this collaboration resulted in this way, says Steen Houman, International Floorball Advisor at Special Olympics and an IFF Central Board member.

At the end, there was a plenty of big smiles with all involved players, federations, organisations and of course Presidents, and Mr. Zelenskyy the president of Ukraine displayed his enjoyment playing floorball.
