Vítkovice and Florbal MB Champions in Czech Republic

Vítkovice won their third Women’s Extraliga championship title in a row and Florbal MB won their second Men’s Livesport Superliga title.

Women’s Superfinal

Vítkovice and Chodov met in the Women’s Superfinal, once again. Chodov started the scoring with Patricie Suchanová’s goal. Chodov played a strong first period and with the goals by Eliška Chudá and Tereza Hanzlíková, led with 3-1 after first 20 minutes. The second period ended even 2-2, and Chodov were still able to keep their lead onto the third period.

It was the last period when Vítkovice put on another gear and began to catch up. Both teams scored twice in the third period before Barbora Husková took Vítkovice to 6-7 and Michaela Šponiarová equalised. The Extraliga championship title was then decided in overtime. The golden goal was scored by Husková who finished her hat-trick in the 67th minute. The title was third in a row for Vítkovice but also, third loss in a row for Chodov. Vítkovice also secured their tickets to Champions Cup 2022 in Winterthur, Switzerland.

Men’s Superfinal

Florbal MB played a very even game with Vítkovice when the two best teams fought for the gold medals. This was the third time in a row that these teams met in the Czech Men’s Superfinal.

Lukáš Hájek from Vítkovice scored the first goal in the 7th minute. The score was 2-2 after the first period but in the second period, Marek Bräuer took Vítkovice to a 3-2 lead again. In the final period it was however Florbal MB that dominated the match. First, Daniel Šebek equalised and 10 minutes later Jiří Curney scored during a power play. Vítkovice took a chance in the end to play without a goalie, but it was Florbal MB that could increase the lead. First Jakub Bína scored with a long distance shot and then Milan Tomasik scored.

Florbal MB won the final 6-3 and after a two-year break, the Florbal MB returned to the Czech throne, thus spoiling Tomas Sladek’s farewell match. The players from Mladá Boleslav will join the Vítkovice Women’s floorball team to the Champions Cup 2022, played in Winterthur, Switzerland.
