In the Women’s Elvi floorball league, Rubene took their 13th championship title on Sunday 6th of June after defeating Ķekavas Bulldogs/NND in the finals. Rubene-1 won the bronze medal.

The first final match on Saturday 5th of June, ended in Rubene’s 5-3 win against Ķekavas Bulldogs/NND. Goalkeepers were announced as the best players of this match, Sintija Bāliņa from Rubene with 21 saves and Jana Filipsone with 22 saves. Simona Grāpēna and Laura Gaugere were the most productive players from the home team Rubene with two points each, but Anna Ankudinova had two points in the guest team.

As the final series was decided with the best of three system, Rubene had a good position for the second match on Sunday. Ķekavas Bulldogs/NND took the lead in the 17th minute, when Kristiāna Biezuma scored the first goal of the match. In the 26th minute, Rubene got the equaliser when Simona Grāpēna scored on power play. Grāpēna also finished a second goal in the 45th minute, which ended up being the winning goal. Ķekavas Bulldogs/NND tried to get even, also without the goalkeeper but did not succeed. Final score 2-1 for Rubene. The scorer of Rubene’s both goals, Grāpēna and Liene Krauja from the silver team were elected best players of the match.

The third place match of the Women’s Elvi league was played also on Sunday the 6th and Rubene-1 won bronze with the same score, 2-1 against FK Ķekava. Juta Muravska scored both of Rubene’s goals but the best player of the match was the goalkeeper Estere Elbrete with 22 saves. Valērija Druzjaka was the best player from FK Ķekava.

Men’s Elvi league

In the Men’s Elvi league, three teams have secured their spots in the semi-finals. Lielvārde/FatPipe won the quarter-finals 2-0 against Apelsīns/Oxdog Ulbroka and they will play against Rubene in the semi-finals. Rubene won their quarter-final series against FBK Valmiera 2-1. Talsu NSS/Krauzers are also in the semi-finals after winning the semi-final series 2-1 against Ķekava. The fourth semi-finalist team will be either the regular season winner Lekrings or Irlava/Avant. Currently Lekrings are leading the series 1-0 against Irlava/Avant.
