The Estonian Superfinal is held on Sunday 2nd of May in Kalev Sports Hall in Tallinn. Sparta and Eesti Maaülikool will play in the Women’s final and Sparta team Automaailm I and Jõgeva SK/Tähe Olivia in the Men’s final.
In the Women’s semi-finals, Eesti Maaülikool beated SK Link/SAKU, when they won both matches (3-1, 7-1). The performance of the team was a surprise since they had only won one game out of 10 during the regular season. But the game they won was the last game of regular season and it was all it took to rise from the bottom. Sparta secured their spot in the final by winning the regular season.
In the Men’s league, two teams had to end their season due to Covid-19 and Bändidos and Sparta team Automaailm II fought for the “small cup” title, meaning they were playing for the 5th place. Sparta team Automaailm II won both games with scores 10-9 (in overtime) and 7-2.
Semi-final pairs in the Men’s league were Sparta team Automaailm I – Eesti Maaülikool and Jõgeva SK/Tähe Olivia – SK Link/Saku. From the first pair, Sparta team Automaailm I won with full advantage. Games were played until three wins and scores were as follows 12-6, 21-1, 14-3. Same scenario happened in the second semi-final where Jõgeva took the spot in the final with scores 10-5, 13-4 and 11-1.
— The Men’s Final will probably be the tightest match of the season. Both teams have skillful young players and experienced players with international careers, says Kati Kütisaar, the Assistant Championship Organiser of the Estonian Floorball Union.
