The performance of the floorball team of Shanghai Pinghe school “Dream Team” was televised by the Shanghai Media Group in China. This is the first time that a Chinese floorball team has performed on TV in Shanghai.
On February 12th the performance of Shanghai Pinghe School floorball team was broadcast by the Shanghai City TV, Shanghai radio and the city TV channel. The performance was included in a lifestyle TV show.
– The school’s floorball team is called “Dream Team” as the team aspires to excel in sport. This school team being one of the top junior school teams in Shanghai was invited as guest performer for the TV show and performed a floorball skills number, says Mr Yuan Yong, Vice President of China Floorball Union.
Shanghai Pinghe School is a 12-year private school in China. It enrols approximately 2100 students from G1 to G12. The school has hired an experienced floorball player/coach as its P.E teacher, offering floorball classes to G1 and G2 students. It’s first floorball team, Pinghe Dragons, was formed in March 2018. By Jan 2021, there were over 100 students in four teams playing in different age group floorball tournaments: U8, U10, U12 and U19. In 2019, Pinghe Dragons U8 team won first place in China’s National Youth Floorball Championship, and its U10 team took the third place.
– With the continuing support and efforts from schools such as Shanghai Pinghe we believe that floorball will see rapid development in the future, Mr Yuan Yong informs.
