The first virtual basic referee seminar for coaches and referees was conducted with 174 participants from 11 provinces of China on the 1st of February. The purpose of the seminar was to further improve the skill level of Chinese floorball referees.
The four day event was organised by China Floorball Union (CFU) with endorsement from the General Administration of Sport of China (Handball, Hockey, Baseball and Softball Administrative centre). The lecturer team consisted of both CFU and Singapore Floorball Association lecturers.
During the seminar, the China lecture team explained the basic rules, referee methods, basic qualities of referees and coaches, and led the students to share their experience in the promotion of floorball. Through examples, discussions and explanations of practical problems, the Singapore lecturer team enabled students to master practical skills, understand rules more deeply, and solve many difficult problems for students.
In addition to improving the skill level of Chinese floorball referees the aim was improve the knowledge of basic rules and regulations of CFU, improve the working mechanism, further standardise the development of floorball, and to lay a solid foundation for the future referee work.
The opening ceremony was held by Mr. Yuan Yong, vice president of CFU. Also Mr. Veli Halonen, the Operations Manager of the International Floorball Federation (IFF) held a speech to express the IFF’s endorsement and support for the training, affirming the CFU’s efforts and progress.
Mr. Liu Dongwei, the President of CFU, on behalf of Ms. Wang Tao, Director of the Handball, Hockey, Baseball and Softball Administrative centre of General Administration of Sport of China, expressed his gratitude towards the IFF and thanked AOFC for their support, welcomed the international lecturer team participating in the seminar, congratulated the trainees participating in the training.
