On Sunday 31st of January, the Belgian Floorball Federation held a General Meeting where one of the topics was how to end the season 2020/21. Both the board and the clubs agreed on fully cancelling the season.

The decision was made based on the uncertain factors regarding Covid-19 situation and its impact on floorball. In addition, the federation had no prospects on when they could restart the activities.

Since the season is cancelled, there will be no champions in 2020/21. Considering the Adults League, the ranking that was used to form the divisions for 2020/21 will be used for 2021/22 rankings. Depending on the total number of teams registered for the Adults League, it might be possible that the divisions change, according to the rules, in order to have balanced divisions in 2021/22.

The Belgian Floorball Federation will now start preparing the season 2021/22, hoping for a proper competition to be played, but taking into account that there might be further restrictions or safety measures that might be applicable. Before the start of the new season, as soon as there is a green light from the national authorities, the federation will organise friendly games for the registered teams 2020/21. More information will follow at a later stage.

The Belgian Floorball Federation had to make a similar decision last season, when it informed in March that all floorball activities were cancelled.
