The Women’s and Women’s U19 Euro Floorball Tour, which should have been arranged 13-15 November in Uppsala, is cancelled. The four participating nations, Czech Republic, Finland, Sweden and Switzerland, have taken a joint decision on the issue.

The Women’s national teams and the U19 Women’s national teams from Sweden, Finland, Switzerland and the Czech Republic were supposed to play the annual Euro Floorball Tour tournament at IFU Arena in Uppsala 13-15 November. But after a joint dialogue during the weekend, the decision was made to cancel the tournament.

– The players’ safety and health always come first. The increased spread of the infection that we are seeing right now, in connection with the fact that there are new restrictions in the participating countries almost every week, makes it difficult to organise events. As an organiser, we have a shared responsibility with the nations for the health of all participants and it is not worth the risk right now to carry out the tournament, says Swedish Floorball Federation Secretary General Mikael Ahlerup and continues:

– Internationally, we are now looking ahead and I sincerely hope that the situation in the world will look different in six months, so that we put full focus on first and foremost the U19 WFC in Uppsala 5-9 May 2021. It has already been postponed twice, so now we hope for the third time valid. Then we want to arrange the best Women’s World Floorball Championships in the end of 2021.
