The Men’s highest league in Ukraine started during last weekend and the Women’s league will start on 10th-11th of October in Lutsk. Tamuz Hidir from the Ukrainian Floorball Federation, commented on the new floorball season.
How is the preparation for the new season going in Ukraine?
– The Ukrainian Federation is starting the new season even though there is some uncertainty with the current Covid-19 situation.
Are there any winner favourites and major changes in the main leagues/among the teams?
– In the Men’s and Women’s categories we have a record number of teams registered. Women’s League has nine teams and FBC Skif are the favorites challenged by Kyiv Floorball Club and Skala Melitopol. In the Men’s Highest League there are seven teams. Favorite is the reigning champion FBC Lemberg, challenged by FBC Skala Melitopol and FBC Storm.
– In addition, the Men’s first League has 18 teams and the Men’s second league 12 teams.
Interesting transfers, player news or other facts?
– The biggest transfers in Men’s league were that Lemberg Men’s team got a new Head Coach from Great Britain, Kaspars Maksimova, and that Dimitry Lymar joined FBC Skala Melitopol from Kyiv Floorball Club.
– In the Women’s league, Skif Novij Rozdil lost its best player Alina Zelena to Jönköping IK.
