The Czech team Vitkovice won both the men’s and women’s elite categories at the Czech Open 2020. For both teams this was their first Czech Open victory.
Seven teams competed in the women’s elite category this year, including the Czech U19 national team, who got some valuable preparation. The national team played good matches with very good results (four wins and two losses) and earned a spot in the final. Vitkovice was however a tough opponent in the final and beat the U19 team 9-3.
All-Star Team women elite:
Most valuable player: Karolína Stujová (Czech Republic WU19)
Best scorer: Barbora Husková (Vitkovice ) – 11 goals
Best goalie: Jana Christianová (Chodov)
The men’s teams defeated Tatran in the final 8-6. The team played four matches in the tournament with three wins and one draw. Vitkovice met Tatran twice, and the first match was a draw, but in the final Vitkovice was two goals better. Marek Matejčík, who scored a hat-trick and became the best scorer with seven goals, was Vitkovice ‘s key player.

A total of 97 teams from seven nations will play in the Czech Open 2020. This year, because of the covid-19 pandemic, there were a reduced number of teams from abroad and there were only Czech teams in the Elite categories.
