In addition to ten projects, that received the most votes in the IFF Kids with Sticks Facebook voting, the IFF decided to support six additional projects with a set of sticks. Floorball Federation of Republic of Karelia will create School Floorball League with the equipment.
Floorball Federation of the Republic of Karelia was registered back in 2012. The goal of their project is to establish a floorball league in schools in Petrozavodsk town. The target group are children from 6 to 11 years old, boys and girls from the 1st to 4th grade.
– Republic of Karelia consists of 18 areas. Unfortunately, nowhere in the Republic of Karelia, except Petrozavodsk, no floorball sections, the federation informed in their application.
The federation is planning to establish a floorball section in each of the districts of Karelia. This is planned to be done in one school of the district, where people from other schools in the area can come. The training is planned to be carried out three times a week for 1.5 hours. The number of children in one section is 15. The floorball sections are meant for children of 1st to 2nd grades and 3rd to 4th grades. In total, each school has an average of 30 students. Classes are conducted by a certified specialist in the field of physical education and sports.
– After the inventory is handed over to schools, we plan to hold regular competitions among children of grades 1-4. It is planned to hold competitions between schools once every 3 months (in late November, late February, late May). In the festival there will be two age categories 1-2 grades and 3-4 grades. Teams will be divided into groups. Three such festivals are planned within the framework of this project, they informed in their application.
